In the beginning...

​Why SGF?

The idea for Slow Girl Foods came when a colleague at work was coveting my healthy hearty breakfast, a bowl of warm steel-cut oatmeal with dried fruit and cinnamon almonds.  She remarked how she loved steel-cut oatmeal but didn't have the time in the morning to make it.  I thought, there's a market for making healthy foods in a convenient package.  So I set out to create "health in a cup" making steel-cut oatmeal, adding various whole grains to increase the protein and create a complex texture.  I had willing tasters at work who provided valuable feed back.  I finally found the perfect combination and thus began Slow Girl Foods. My aim is to make for my customers slow food, fast
